  • Executive Director

    Monica is a dedicated and passionate Master of Social Work committed to serving Houston’s diverse and underserved communities. Monica has worked in the social work space for more than a decade. She previously served as Sr. Manager of the Immigration and Citizenship Program at BakerRipley, where she specialized in providing holistic legal and social services to newly arriving families from the Southern border. Her focus is on systems and program development that provides trauma informed support and addresses barriers to access to service. She serves as an advocate that works alongside stakeholders to address disparities among vulnerable populations. Her goal is to create a safe and welcoming space for all.


  • Manager of Social Services

    Nereida Rendon is a dedicated professional in the field of social work, currently nearing completing her Master's degree in Social Work, expected in May 2024. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Social Work and has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others. With a profound passion for social work, Nereida has a rich background in the field, notably as a Case Manager for BakerRipley's Immigration and Citizenship Program. In this role, she played a pivotal role in the lives of newly arrived families who were once on ISAP (Intensive Supervision Appearance Program). Her work involved comprehensive case management, providing vital support and guidance during their transitional phase. Nereida's journey in social work has been marked by a deep sense of empathy and a commitment to empowering those in need. She understands the importance of fostering resilience and facilitating access to resources that pave the way for brighter futures. She envisions a future where every individual has the opportunity to thrive and live a life of dignity. Nereida is poised to make meaningful contributions to the field of social work, with the education, experience, and an unyielding commitment to making a difference in the lives of those she serves.
